Seed

Once upon a time, in a land found in the middle of Canada, Capoeira Angola is nowhere to be found.

Capoeira Angola sprouted in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2008. The story began on the forks, at the world famous skatepark.

I myself learned a bit from a friend in the mountains of prince George, BC. While my friend learned it in Mexico. And the third person to complete our circle, learned it here in Winnipeg, Capoeira regional.

From that day forward, our struggles that we faced for not having someone to show us the path to Capoeira Angola, made us stronger, gave us more passion and love, and from what I have seen, the three of us are different compared to the ones who came after us. It seems that we represented the gunga, media and viola, and if one of us are not in a roda, it's different.

Different in a way that I can't even find the word to describe it.

And now, all of us three have planted seeds. Individually ours, different and yet the same.

I  glad we started the Capoeira Angola, for our children's future, and for yours too, manitoban.

We are all looking forward to meet your semente, coco roco.

Axe.
